Bix a beel, Buenas tardes, good afternoon. My name is Carlos Poot Pat, cousin of the deceased, and today I have the honor and the responsibility to give you a message from his family in Teabo, Yucatán:

“My name is Fidelia del Carmen, widow of Luis Góngora Pat
My name is Luis Rodolfo, son of Luis Góngora Pat
My name is Rossana, daughter of Luis Góngora Pat
My name is Ángel de Jesús, son of Luis Góngora Pat
My name is Estela, mother of Luis
My name is Demetrio, father of Luis

We, the widow, children and parents of Luis Góngora Pat, have prepared a brief message for our family and friends in San Francisco on this very important day:

Today marks a year since the death of Luis, our beloved father, an exemplary father, a great son and a great husband, whom the San Francisco police took away from us. The culprits are still free. How is that possible in a city like San Francisco?

All we demand is justice for our father. We feel devastated, but we would feel better knowing that his murderers are paying their guilt.

Every time we remember our dad and knowing that we are not going to see him again, we cry of anger and impotence. Memories is all that is left of him; we hope the guilty ones pay for the damage they caused us.

All that is left is to honor his memory: HONOR AND JUSTICE FOR LUIS GÓNGORA PAT!

Our dear father, wherever you are, thank you for bringing us into this world. We will not stop until justice arrives. Those who killed you, those who murdered you, will pay for what they’ve done.

Our mother tells us all the time, “If your dad was here, things would be much better.”
His mother, our grandmother—80 years old—when we talk to her she says she does not want to die until she knows that the murderers of her son are in jail paying for their guilt.

In San Francisco there are many people who are supporting us. Relatives and friends, we just want to say that we love you very much. We do not know you personally, but from the bottom of our hearts and with much affection, we send you many thanks and hugs for your efforts.

We demand justice for Luís Demetrio Góngora Pat, against his assassins, Sergeant Nate Seger and Officer Michael Mellone!”

Nosotros viuda, hijos y padres de Luis Góngora Pat hemos preparado un breve mensaje para nuestra familia y amigos en San Francisco en este día tan importante:

Hoy se cumple un año de la muerte de Luís, de nuestro querido padre, un padre ejemplar para nosotros, un gran hijo y un gran esposo, a quien la policía de San Francisco nos quitó. Los culpable siguen libre. ¿Cómo es posible eso en una ciudad como San Francisco?

Nosotros lo único que exijimos es justicia para nuestro papá. Nos sentimos devastados, pero nos sentiríamos mejor al saber que los asesinos están pagando su culpa.

Cada vez que recordamos a nuestro papá y al saber que no lo vamos a volver a ver, lloramos de coraje y de impotencia. Recuerdos son lo único que tenemos de él; esperamos que los culpables paguen por el daño que nos causaron.

Lo que nos queda es honrar su memoria ¡HONOR Y JUSTICIA PARA LUIS GONGORA PAT! Nuestro querido padre, donde sea que te encuentres, gracias por traernos a este mundo. Nosotros no pararemos hasta lograr justicia. Los que te mataron, los que te asesinaron, pagarán su culpa.

Nuestra madre nos dice todo el tiempo “Si tu papá estuviera aquí, las cosas estarían mucho mejor.”

Su madre, nuestra abuela, de 80 años; cuando hablamos con ella dice que no quiere morir, hasta saber que los asesinos de su hijo Luís estén en la cárcel pagando su culpa.

En San Francisco hay mucha gente que nos está apoyando. Familiares y amigos, solamente les queremos decir que los queremos mucho. No les conocemos personalmente, pero de todo corazón y con mucho cariño, les damos las gracias y muchos abrazos por sus esfuerzos.

¡Exijimos justicia para Luís Demetrio Góngora Pat, contra sus asesinos, el Sargento Nate Seger y el Oficial Michael Mellone!”
