Unforgettable: A message of remembrance and gratitude from Rosana Góngora Pat, on behalf of herself and her family in Teabo, Yucatán. |
| On a day like today, one April 7th, 3 years ago, the most important person in our life was taken from us, that person who fought hard to get all the way over there, to get ahead and give us the best, 14 years without seeing each other, only his voice we could hear, his laughs of joy, when we talked with him, his advice and his jokes because he was always a very loving person and that’s why my mother, my brothers and I loved him and we always had the hope that one day we would meet again and they snatched him away from us, without us being able to say goodbye, those policemen so cruel and ruthless. They are animals because nobody deserves to die as they killed him, they killed him as if he were an animal, 3 long years have gone by as if it were yesterday, hoping to hear the phone ring and he be the one speaking to us, there is still no resignation in us, it still hurts us to know that he will never return, but in spite of all this I want to thank Adante Pointer, Adriana Camarena who has become part of our family, my cousins Luis Poot and Carlos Poot, their families who have supported us in everything from the moment we knew what had happened with our dad, we want to thank my uncle José Góngora Pat for being brave, a warrior and a fighter because despite all his pain and anger he has carried inside, he has confronted everything and stood up to demand justice for the death of his brother, thank you to these people we mentioned we were able to raise up and honor my father, we want to thank Adante for representing us in court, getting us to San Francisco, gratitude to my cousins and my uncles José and also Carlos Góngora, because we were forgetting to mention him, the help they gave us and especially their families for agreeing to welcome us into their house with open arms, we will never forget that trip because we visited places where our daddy worked, lived, where he went to play baseball and so much more, thanks also to Melissa Nold for standing up and representing us to get to San Francisco, the trip was long, we were challenged because I never thought we would achieve, but we did it, thanks also to those people who gave us their support, those people who on the 7th of each month are present at the altar to accompany the family and show their support, we will not tire of saying thank you because everything what you have done is priceless.
